CRC hosts and co-organizes educational programs that encourage intellectual engagement and reflective growth. Through conferences, seminars, and other learning opportunities, participants encounter new ideas, hear different perspectives, and reflect on issues that shape our daily lives.
The Mental Health in Faith Communities Conference brings together clinicians, counselors, faith leaders, and community members to talk openly about the mental health challenges affecting families and congregations. The program focuses on practical insight, shared experience, and ways local communities can respond with awareness and compassion.
Co-organized with Roots Living Ministry and hosted in partnership with regional mental-health organizations, the conference has become one of CRC’s most meaningful annual gatherings, offering a setting where professional expertise meets the lived experiences of faith communities.
The Women’s Conference is a gathering that brings together women from varied backgrounds to reflect on the issues they encounter in daily life — including family, work, well-being, and community involvement.
Hosted by CRC in partnership with the Metamorphosis Women’s Empowerment Initiative, the conference features panel discussions, shared experiences, and conversations that offer insight into both challenges and points of hope. The program brings together voices from different fields and invites participants to listen, ask questions, and learn from one another. The aim is to provide a respectful setting where women can engage with topics that resonate with their own experiences and hear how others navigate similar concerns.
CRC has hosted educational gatherings including seminars, workshops, conferences, and book talks—both online and in collaboration with academic and community partners. These programs bring together scholars, practitioners, authors, and community members for conversation and shared learning.
Through these events, participants have engaged topics such as mental health, family life, ethical questions, civic engagement, and interfaith dialogue. Whether structured as a panel discussion, a focused workshop, or a larger conference, each program encourages listening, reflection, and the sharing of perspectives.
Past CRC Book Talks have brought authors together with readers in an interactive setting, offering participants the opportunity to engage directly with writers after reading their work. Particularly active during the pandemic, these conversations created space for thoughtful questions and dialogue. Past book talks have featured authors such as Dr. Zuleyha Keskin (Attaining Inner Peace in Islam) and Dr. Zeki Saritoprak (Islam’s Jesus), highlighting themes of interfaith understanding, shared values, and the role of prophetic figures across traditions.
CRC Seminars have welcomed speakers from different fields — from philosophy and childhood development to cybersecurity and ethics. Topics have included the problem of evil, parenting during the pandemic, and online privacy and digital safety, each offering participants a chance to learn, ask questions, and reflect on issues relevant to contemporary life.
Although these programs are not currently held on a regular schedule, they remain part of the educational spirit of CRC and reflect the types of learning opportunities the center continues to support when resources and partnerships allow.
