Activities in the holy month of Ramadan

Iftar dinners

In light of the month of Ramadan, CRC continued to host its annual iftar dinners in accordance with COVID-19 regulations. In order to provide our neighbors and friends in the area an exceptional experience during Ramadan, we organized different events in small groups to accommodate the health guidelines. The attendees of the iftar dinner also included clergies from various churches as well as the State Representative Jack Rader. The event started with a brief tour of the CRC followed by a presentation by our community member, Ali, who highlighted the kinds of activities held at the CRC and the meaning and importance of Ramadan for Muslims all around the globe. Then, we along with our guests broke our fasts at sunset after the recitation of the adhan, the call to prayer. The night continued with a demonstration of the preparation of Turkish coffee by our community member, Hafsa.

Food Drives

In addition, CRC also organized multiple food drives which delivered 50 meals to the PVEN food pantry and 150 meals to the Stroudsburg Islamic Center on two different occasions. All in all, there were about 350 meals in total that were distributed to different locations.
